Welcome to your Caesarean birth at Waitematā.
Please take a moment to watch the video above. It will help you know what to expect on the day of your planned caesarean.

At Waitematā, we want your birth experience to feel calm, supported, and special. You’re welcome to have a support person with you throughout your caesarean. You can also bring music to play or a muka pito tie for your baby if that’s something you’d like.

If there are any tikanga, cultural, or spiritual practices that are important to you, please let your LMC or the anaesthetist on the day know. We’ll do our best to make sure these are included and respected. We are here to support you.

Your anaesthetist will stay with you the whole time to help keep you comfortable and cared for. We’re so looking forward to meeting you and your whānau.
